In comparison similar DF-lites are often cheaper and may even be more complex or offer more features, at least on the surface, but just don't end up being as enjoyable for a host of reasons. I know I paid $30 for Rimworld awhile back and thought that was kinda pricey for an indie game with not too much content but I genuinely enjoyed it and thought it had a bright future. It's an inherently personal thing, and trying to judge it for others is kinda silly especially when $15 is rather cheap at that.
